The total area of the school is 11500 sq. m., the land area is 8 hectares. The lessons are held in 9 buildings.

Our school and Kindergarten teachers are highly qualified, all with two, others three specialties, actively participate in various professional courses, students build projects in cultural activities. Our students have low motivation to learn, so our teachers attractive, creative, as a development and the process very educational buildings difference, make it more interesting. Our special programs requires a special approach to learning and to the children. Our teachers rich experience, which they can share with others. In our school we have support team( with doctors ). We will assist and support the individual approach to each student. Our boarding school experience, together with the health promoting rehabilitation centres would be interesting and useful to others. In Latvian schools with rehabilitation is only the fourth. Our school has 5 basic education (classes 1-9), and 2 preschool program - 4 groups (learning disabilities, often ill children, mainstream, with development disabilities, pedagogical correction program etc.). At school it is rehabilitation centres provide daily medical care and rehabilitation of children with somatic diseases. The school has 29 extracurricular circles (Dancing, vocal ensemble, sports, woodworking and others) and the therapeutic measures (a therapeutic gymnastics, salt room, Nordic walking, massage, salt room, physiotherapy training). The school is surrounded by forests, which is healthy for our often ill students. It is close to the capital of the, but next in socially disadvantaged village and refugee camp. The school children from across the country, students with learning disabilities, socially disadvantaged, single-parent families, often ill children .. They provide boarding accommodation with full board 7 days a week. Rehabilitation centres provide daily medical care and rehabilitation measures under the children's diagnoses and needs. Our students have learning difficulties, they have a low learning motivation and high risk to leave school early and not to complete primary education. School had – ERAF, ESF projects, other local projects, Erasmus experience. The Project "Support the implementation of measures of social exclusion of young people from risk groups into education Upeslejas boarding school - rehabilitation centre and Summer camp. Association "Family and health" is implementing the project with the EU "The option program for teenagers". We develop ICT systems and technology, improving literacy skills, we modernize the learning process.

We have many teacher activities in   regional and country projects.

Every September is the science festival.

Regular training trips. Children with special needs was the hockey game, without parents.

We are having Researchers' Night takes place off-site scientific events of different themes. Movement "Friendly School" announced a contest for the best class education classes and our teachers borrowing in the first place.

It is running active support team, psychologist, speech therapist, special educator through informal methods.

But in order to better help students increase their motivation, that is necessary for teachers to learn more informal methods of integration process tuition, learn new techniques, develop hours to increase students' motivation and interest in learning.

We will plan open other programs for special needs. Motive  teachers interest in their work, so that they have satisfaction from work, not burnout syndrome.

 

Our staff is very professional teachers, with min two education for all, some have three professions. With great experience, especially with difficult children . Teachers participate  in various local projects, competitions, regular updating of their skills and knowledge of professional courses. We have something to share with colleagues from other countries.

WE have experience in ERAf, ESF, Erasmus plus ( KA1, KA2 and we start participate in young sector too).

We have many students from a socially disadvantaged family, they are sometimes feel discouraged

it is also a low motivation to learn and socially integrate into the school environment.

By this method-   also narration, digital narration, drama, music and fine arts. Through these activities, we are looking forward to the future. Also, to develop the feeling of being accepted and respected. We have little experience with digital methods, but we use a lot of music, drama, theatre, art to make students interesting to learn and feel socially safe and friendly.
